BlueActionAA launches thematic webinar series on its Community‑Led Pilot Action Call

Project Description

BlueActionAA is launching a new thematic webinar series throughout March and April to introduce its Community‑Led Pilot Action Call, a key initiative supporting the objectives of the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”. Over four sessions, the series will explore how local communities, authorities, and practitioners can drive meaningful restoration and protection efforts across marine and freshwater environments.

The webinars will each focus on one of the call’s four thematic areas:
Marine Restoration – 12 March
Blue Economy – 19 March
Freshwaters Restoration – 26 March
Marine Pollution – 9 April

Each session brings together expert guest speakers and real-world practitioners to share insights on restoring rivers, lakes, wetlands, coastal zones, and connected freshwater systems through inclusive, community-driven approaches. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the open call, its role within Mission Ocean, and the thematic priorities shaping each topic.

A dedicated use‑case example in every webinar will highlight practical lessons from existing restoration initiatives, demonstrating how local knowledge, citizen engagement, and collaborative governance can lead to effective and sustainable outcomes.

Attendees will also learn about the technical assistance available to selected pilot actions, including support for planning, implementation, and community engagement. Each session will conclude with a Q&A and an overview of next steps for applicants.

Registration is now open for all four webinars, and stakeholders from local authorities, community groups, NGOs, research organisations, and other interested actors are warmly invited to join.
