BlueActionAA at the EuroGEO Marine & Coastal Action Group Workshop in Geneva

Project Description

BlueActionAA, represented by Tania Montoto Martínez from PLOCAN, will be participating in the EuroGEO Marine & Coastal Action Group Workshop, titled “Data-to-Intelligence: Co-creating strategies with EU initiatives”, taking place on 6 and 7 July 2026 at the WMO Headquarters in Geneva.

Organised under the EuroGEO framework and supported by the European Commission, the workshop brings together EU-funded initiatives to strengthen the bridge between marine and coastal data and real-world decision-making. Its goals include facilitating knowledge exchange, identifying gaps and opportunities in the transformation of data into actionable intelligence, and co-creating strategic recommendations for the European Commission.

BlueActionAA’s participation is closely aligned with its core mission of enabling community-led action for ocean restoration. As a project contributing to the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, BlueActionAA shares the workshop’s ambition of turning scientific knowledge into tangible impact. The project’s emphasis on multi-actor collaboration, bringing together research institutions, public authorities, and local communities, reflects the co-creation approach at the centre of this event.

Beyond the scientific and policy dimensions, the workshop represents a valuable opportunity for BlueActionAA to strengthen its position within the broader European ecosystem of Mission Ocean projects. By exchanging experiences with peer initiatives, identifying common challenges, and exploring collaborative pathways, BlueActionAA reinforces its role as a connector between data, knowledge, and action.

The outcomes of the workshop, including shared insights and strategic recommendations, will contribute to the long-term usability of tools and knowledge developed across EU-funded projects, supporting evidence-based ocean governance at the European level.
